Reliance Industries Unveils Ambitious Growth Plans

Business Tycoon Mukesh Ambani has come up with an expansion strategy for Reliance Industries. He has made major announcements that include-

  • IPO of Jio by mid-2026 
  • Reliance Intelligence (AI focused subsidiary)
  • Major investments in Retail, Solar Energy and Green Hydrogen

The company as well has made the announcements to partner with Google and Meta to boost its cloud and AI services. Although, the investors are preferring a demerger than IPO. Reliance’s stock has dropped due to ongoing trade tensions between India and US. 

India Issues Flood Alert to Pakistan Amid Monsoon Chaos

India has issued a humanitarian warning to Pakistan as cross-border flooding may affect Pakistan worsely. Such may threaten areas like Kasur and Vehari. 

The alert has been sent following heavy monsoon rains and dam releases that have already caused major flooding and landslides in Northern India. As per the reports, more than  a million have been evacuated in Pakistan’s Punjab, 2.45 million are affected.

Luxury EVs Face Steep Tax Hike; Tesla, BMW Could Be Hit

Recent reports reveal that the government has proposed a hike in GST (Goods and Service Tax) on luxury vehicles from 5% to 40% for vehicles having price over $46,000. Such a decision aims at protecting domestic buyers and aligning with broader tax reform.

Due to this, there could be seen reduction in demand of the imported luxury Electric Vehicle brands like Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW.

PM Modi Reacts Sharply to Political Row, Activists Claim Victories

In political news, Prime Minister Modi criticized RJD and Congress for offensive remarks in Bihar that allegedly targeted his late mother. Meanwhile, Congress leader Pawan Khera received a notice from the Election Commission over issues involving dual voter ID cards. 

On the reservation front, Maratha activist Manoj Jarange celebrated what he called a “victory” after the government reportedly agreed to most demands.
