He captured a standard image of his hand, free of cuts or blemishes and utilized the Nano Banana AI tool. He entered a brief prompt requesting the AI to generate an injury. Within moments, the tool generated an altered image that appeared highly realistic, depicting a new wound with redness and intricate details, resembling an injury that could easily deceive anyone.
Shreyash Nirmal, the creator of Gorilla Trend Technologies, posted on LinkedIn displaying the original and modified images next to each other. The worker subsequently submitted the fraudulent injured-hand image to his HR department, claiming he had fallen from his bicycle.
HR trusted the photo, empathized with him, and promptly authorized his paid leave without further investigation, as the image appeared entirely authentic.
“The HR representative noticed the injury and promptly notified the manager, who approved the leave in just a few minutes,” he stated. Responses on social media were filled with surprise, humor, and worry. Certain individuals were amazed by the realistic appearance of the AI-generated image, while others humorously suggested that this could alter the future of leave requests.
