The northern regions of India, particularly Delhi, which is Air India’s main hub, encounter reduced visibility from heavy fog, possibly affecting the flight timetable throughout the network.

The aviation authority DGCA has declared the period from December 10 to February 10 next year as the official fog window for this winter.

In a related development, IndiGo cancelled 113 flights across its network due to disruptions caused by bad weather at Delhi airport on Tuesday.

The airline said it will not operate 42 flights on Wednesday on account of bad weather at Delhi airport.

With the arrival of winter, early mornings in northern India can experience fog that might sometimes hinder flight operations, IndiGo noted in a post on X.

IndiGo stated that its teams are thoroughly prepared and closely observing weather conditions, noting that “we are implementing careful adjustments on the ground wherever feasible to minimize inconvenience and make any waiting time as comfortable as we can.”
