The 43-year-old Prashant Tamang, the Indian Idol Season 3 champion, and also the Paatal Lok 2 actor, has died.
Prashant Tamang, the one who got the first position in Indian Idol Season 3 and who’s the actor in Pataal Lok 2, is no longer with us as he passed away on January 10, which made his fans and people related to the entertainment industry extremely sad. The 43-year-old singer, who was known for his melodious voice and emotional performances, made a mark in the music industry, especially in West Bengal, where he earned the title of a household name after winning the Indian Idol show.
Prashant Tamang, a former singer turned actor from Darjeeling, is reported to have died due to a heart attack. He was quickly taken to Dwarka Hospital in New Delhi, where he was announced dead. At this moment, his family has not put out any public statement relating to his demise.
Mamata Banerjee pays tribute to Prashant Tamang
The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, through social media, expressed her deep sorrow over the demise of Tamang who she described as a remarkable contributor to the music field. In a tweet, the Chief Minister posted, “I am mentally disturbed by the sudden demise of Prashant Tamang. His voice full of emotions and his journey from a small town to being Indian Idol’s winner inspired a great number of people. I send my messages of comfort to his family, friends, and fans at this most heartbreaking time.”
In a heartfelt tribute, Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Higher Education in Nagaland, shared his emotional thoughts on social media, saying:
Having been inspired by his life’s journey, Prashant Tamang has said that for him Prashant was more than just a wonderful artist; he was a close friend who had a kind heart and a beautiful soul. The qualities that defined him are the humility coupled with the warmth he manifested, which were prominent features of his character even when he was far away. Despite the fact that he passed away, his voice, his smile, and the reminiscence of the time we had together will never leave me. My friend, may you rest in peace. Your absence will be a deep loss to this world and you will be lovingly remembered.”
