A strange incident has been reported from Jalandhar where an argument over Rs 10 extra charge at a liquor shop turned into a major dispute. Following the conflict, two youths sustained injuries, triggering protests by local residents.
The incident reportedly took place in New Dashmesh Nagar. The customers mentioned that they were being charged Rs 10 more from the official price of liquor. Customers claimed that when they objected, an argument broke out between the customers and the shop staff.
While narrating the incident, locals mentioned that the argument escalated when the contractor along with some individuals said to be linked to the Excise Department.
In the conflict, two has been reported seriously injured who are identified as Sunny Dhawan and Kamal. Even, their scooter was damaged during the clash. A female relative of one of the injured has demanded strict action against the accused.
She as well has asked for compensation for the damage caused to their vehicle.
After the incident, local residents staged a protest demanding the permanent closure of the liquor shop and action against those involved.
