For the first time ever in Punjab’s history, a special Vidhan Sabha session is set to take place outside the state capital, in Anandpur Sahib on November 24.

For the first time ever in Punjab’s history, a special Vidhan Sabha session is set to take place outside the state capital, in Anandpur Sahib on November 24.

This session is planned to take place as part of the events organized by the state’s Aam Aadmi Party government, to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Punjab Education Minister Harjot Bains and Advisor Deepak Bali from the state Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department announced this today after meeting with religious leaders to discuss the organization of events for the occasion.

“Following the meeting, Bains stated, ‘We are negotiating with the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat to conduct the Assembly session in Anandpur Sahib on November 24.’”

He mentioned that five nagar kirtans will take place from various locations starting November 18. “CM Bhagwant Mann will conduct the kirtan at Gurdwara Chathi Patshahi in Srinagar.” 

Two nagar kirtans will also commence from Majha, Doaba, along with Bathinda and Faridkot in Malwa, all are set to meet at Anandpur Sahib on the evening of November 22.

“Seminars will take place in Anandpur Sahib during the day from November 23-25, with kirtans in the evenings,” he stated.

He mentioned that blood donation camps, tree-planting initiatives, and organ donation campaigns will be initiated at Anandpur Sahib for this event. 

“A heritage street will be constructed there, and the CM will lay its foundation stone on Sunday.” “A large tent city will be established there for worshippers from November 19-30,” he stated.
