Police officials busted some of the protestors. They said the Supreme Court says that Jantar Mantar is where protests are supposed to happen, not India Gate.

After Delhi’s air went into the red zone, with air quality way messed up in some spots, folks like activists, regular people, and even some politicians from AAP and Congress got together and marched to India Gate. They wanted the government to do something real about the gross air in the city.

Police officials busted some of the protestors. They said the Supreme Court says that Jantar Mantar is where protests are supposed to happen, not India Gate.

The protest went on for about half an hour before the police showed up and started arresting people. Some protestors said they weren’t getting a chance to protest in peace and were being kicked out.

Delhi AAP head honcho Saurabh Bharadwaj said that pollution’s been a problem for ages. But he did say it’s a big deal that smart people are hitting the streets, meaning they don’t trust the government to fix anything.

Bharadwaj also said the BJP government is messing with the pollution numbers. He said they stop collecting data from the air quality centers when the pollution gets bad.
