Photo of Sidhu Moosewala’s Mother used in Protest Effigy, Triggers Public Backlash

Reports indicate that protestors brought three effigies intended to symbolize Tejasvi Minhas, Bhana Sidhu, and another female figure.

Fans of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala are outraged after a group of protestors in Jalandhar placed his mother Charan Kaur’s image on an effigy. Members of the Christian community organized a demonstration outside the Jalandhar DC office.

A demonstration took place outside the DC office in Jalandhar in reaction to a previous protest led by Tejasvi Minhas and Bhana Sidhu against Pastor Ankur Narula.

Reports indicate that protestors brought three effigies intended to symbolize Tejasvi Minhas, Bhana Sidhu, and another female figure.

Notably, the woman shown in the third effigy is not a controversial character, but is instead Charan Kaur, Sidhu Moosewala’s mother, a very well known Punjabi Singer who recently died. Moosewala’s fans expressed great anger over what they believed to be an attempt to discredit Charan Kaur for reasons unknown to her, and that she was completely unrelated to these events.

In light of this controversy, there were instances when some people stated that they were supposed to receive an effigy portraying Bhaana Sidhu’s mother, but received one that was an effigy of Charan Kaur by accident. So far, the Christian community has not issued any public statements regarding this controversy.
