Hitting back, Shukla criticized Rahul Gandhi and said, “He was Pappu, is Pappu, and will remain Pappu,” targeting the Congress leader personally.

Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Rakesh Shukla on Saturday sparked controversy after making sharp remarks about Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi during a press conference in Sheopur.
Shukla was in Sheopur on a day-long visit and addressed the media at the BJP office regarding the Union Budget. During the press interaction, he responded to Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments against Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, whom Gandhi had called a “traitor” during a political exchange earlier this week.
Hitting back, Shukla criticized Rahul Gandhi and said, “He was Pappu, is Pappu, and will remain Pappu,” targeting the Congress leader personally. He also claimed that the Congress party would continue to lose ground in the states where it is still in power, saying it would not survive there in the coming elections.
The remarks come after a heated verbal clash between Rahul Gandhi and Ravneet Singh Bittu last Wednesday, which triggered strong reactions from BJP leaders after videos of the exchange circulated widely.
Shukla’s comments have since drawn attention and added to the ongoing war of words between the BJP and the Congress.
