The Punjab VB (Vigilance Bureau) on today (March 8, 2026) arrested a drug inspector posted in Muktsar. He was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 Lakh from a drug manufacturer in Bathinda.

He further added that the complainant had alleged that the drug inspector had been blackmailing him and demanding a bribe of Rs 2 Lakh.
Man who lodged the complaint reported that he and the inspector met at a restaurant. “He first sat in my car, where I handed over Rs 1 Lakh to him. He took the money in a pocket and then left his car,” said a complainant.
