The abrupt rise in demand caused a petrol station near Samvidhan Chowk to deplete its fuel supply and temporarily cease operations.

Jalandhar experienced significant crowds at petrol stations following rumors of a fuel shortage circulating in the city, leading to difficulties for residents as long lines formed at various fuel outlets, with individuals waiting to refuel petrol and diesel both day and night.
The abrupt rise in demand caused a petrol station near Samvidhan Chowk to deplete its fuel supply and temporarily cease operations. Salesman Sudarshan Singh stated that the stock ran out approximately thirty minutes before the pump’s closure, emphasizing that this was merely a temporary shortage at that specific location and there is no cause for concern among the public.
Pumps crowded due to Scarcity Rumors
In spite of numerous requests, many locals kept going to fuel stations worrying about a larger scarcity. Sukhmohan Singh, the owner of a Bharat Petroleum pump and president of the association, stated that there is no scarcity of petrol or diesel, and oil companies possess adequate supply.
Amid all this, the authorities are continuously urging people to stay calm as the supply is normal.
