Punjab rolls out Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana, Pilot Begins April 15, Payments from July

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday inaugurated the ‘Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana’ in Adampur, initiating the registration process for the program designed to offer monthly financial aid to qualified women statewide. During the event, the CM also presented certificates to chosen beneficiaries and revealed that the scheme will initially launch on a pilot basis in nine assembly constituencies starting April 15, before being gradually rolled out throughout Punjab, with financial support commencing in July.

Concerning the Program

According to the announcement, under the ‘Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana,’ women in Punjab will receive monthly financial support via direct benefit transfer.

Women in the General category will get Rs 1,000 each month.

Women belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category will get Rs 1,500 each month.

What did CM Mann state?

The CM stated that the scheme has been created to ensure no eligible woman is excluded because of documentation delays and guaranteed that payments will be issued retroactively from the launch date once eligibility is verified; additionally, he urged women to complete their registration even if caste certificates are still pending.

Manish Sisodia’s Remarks

AAP leader Manish Sisodia stated that the initiative is motivated by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision for social equality and empowerment, adding that the launch represents progress in providing women with more financial independence.

Sisodia also mentioned that financial aid for women will start being deposited into bank accounts from July following the complete rollout and emphasized that the party’s goal is to enhance welfare-oriented governance and guarantee that benefits directly reach ordinary citizens.

He also made pointed political comments against the Centre and opposition, alleging they were undermining democratic rights and public welfare, and urged people to back the government’s welfare programs in Punjab.

The plan will initially be launched as a pilot in these 9 constituencies:

Sri Anandpur Sahib

Dirba

Sunam

Moga

Kotkapura

Batala

Patiala Area

Following the pilot phase, registration will be broadened to include the other constituencies beginning May 15.
