Bittu reportedly asserted that Chadha might become a witness in the case and could disclose information regarding supposed financial discrepancies, while also suggesting that rising tensions between Chadha and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) indicate that Chadha’s position could affect numerous individuals if the inquiry progresses.
Bittu blames Arora
These allegations arose after the Enforcement Directorate carried out searches at sites associated with Arora. Bittu further alleged that Arora was exploiting land designated for industrial development and suggested potential foreign financial connections, including visits to Dubai, though there has been no official verification from agencies regarding these allegations.
Chadha appeared publicly in the Rajya Sabha and spoke during the election of Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh. In his comments, Chadha referred to his previous relationship with Harivansh as “khatta-meetha” but expressed optimism that it would now be” only meetha-meetha.” He also lauded Harivansh’s experience, stating it would aid in preserving the dignity and smooth operation of the House.
Controversy surrounding Chadha’s ‘Z+’ security detail
Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has withdrawn the security cover earlier provided by Punjab Police to Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha and following this decision the central government led by the BJP at the Union level upgraded Chadha’s protection by assigning him ‘Z’category security cover for travel and presence in Punjab and Delhi.
