A man hailing from West Bengal was detained after it was claimed that he made a threat to a comedian named Kapil Sharma by using the names of two gangsters, Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar, and thereby demanded INR 1 crore, reported police officials here on Saturday.
As per the reports, Dilip Choudhary was the one who had called the Kapil Sharma’s personal assistant on September 22 and 23 and accused him of not being able to pay the money saying that the actor had connections with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and others such as Godara and Brar.
A police officer stated that he also sent videos of threats to Sharma’s assistant.Chaudhary, who had taken the team of the crime branch of Mumbai on a wild goose chase, was arrested on Friday after the team travelled to West Bengal.
The State Police’s Criminal Investigation Department formed a team and made the arrest on Friday. Media Reports reveal that Chaudhary was brought before a judge who ordered his detention in the police cell till September 30. The authoritative insider has confirmed the story.
