On the stretch of National Highway-48 in Gurugram, five lives were lost and one was critically injured due to a devastating road accident this morning when a Mahindra Thar was out of control and rammed a highway divider. The mishap transpired at around 4:30 am at Exit 9 and near Jharsa Flyover.
As for official sources, the six passengers, three men and three women, came by the Mansarover Garden from Uttar Pradesh for work in Gurugram. There was a report that the SUV, which was speeding, skidded off the road and crashed into the divider. Four passengers died instantly, while two others were taken to Medanta Hospital, where one had to succumb to the injuries.
The last victim is presently being treated in an intensive state.

Sharing information with reporters, Sector-40 SHO Lalit said that a probe into the episode is in progress.
The unfortunate event adds to the series of Mahindra Thar accidents, the vehicle now for its part to be in the middle of controversy for reckless driving.
