A private AC Bus on Tuesday caught fire while running from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur. Nineteen passengers travelling in the bus are reported killed from the fire.
A shocking incident took place on the way from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur in Rajasthan. A private AC Bus on Tuesday caught fire while running from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur. Nineteen passengers travelling in the bus are reported killed from the fire.
According to the reports discovered, there were about 57 passengers in the bus. And, the vehicle left Jaisalmer at 3 pm.
As per the information received from sources, while on the way from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur, smoke started emerging from the rear portion of the bus. On having observed such, the driver stopped the bus along the roadside.
However, the fumes engulfed within moments. While the bus was stopped on the roadside, the locals and passers- by extended help to the ones who were stuck in the bus. The locals immediately rushed to the spot and helped in the rescue operations for the passengers.
Shortly after the incident happened, the fire teams and police officials were informed and the injured passengers were taken to Jawahar Hospital in Jaisalmer for treatment.
Police officials on examining the situation have stated that the fire was engulfed due to the short circuit. Immediately after the incident was reported, the administration extended their support,rescue operations were carried out.
Addressing the media persons, Police Commissioner, Om Prakash Paswan said, “The condition of 16 people were critical, and they were referred from Jaisalmer for treatment. All doctors are engaged in providing medical care.”
