Three Things to consume Daily in India this Winters to Keep yourself Warm

Gud Til Laddoo

Jaggery in India is known as ‘Gud’ and sesame seeds are known by the name ’til’. Both these ingredients are rich in antioxidants and have inflammatory properties which help boost the immune system and also in winters bone strength often lacks so, these ladoos are one of the best options for winters. 

Recipe

  • Take a pan and add in one cup of jaggery along with a few drops of water. 
  • Switch the flame on and keep it very low
  • Let the jaggery melt and once it melts
  • Add roasted sesame seeds to it
  • Combine the mixture well and let it cool just a bit
  • Once your hands can tolerate the heat start making ladoos from the mixture

Store these for one month and consume one laddoo daily for an energetic and warm day. 

Dry Fruits with Honey

Dry fruits are an excellent source of natural oils and can help maintain the moisture levels of the body. Not only this, adding honey with dry fruits increases the health benefits as they together help boost immunity,maintain cholesterol, prevent diabetes and also help with skin repair. 

Recipe 

  • Take half cup of cashews, almonds, pistachios and raisins
  • Roast all these on low flame in a tablespoon of ghee. 
  • Now add honey to it till both the ingredients bind together. 
  • Let the mixture cool and then store in the fridge. Keep it out of the fridge and before consuming. 

These can be stored for about 15 days. And can be consumed after any meal. 

Kesar Milk

Saffron in India is widely known as kesar. Saffron is warm in nature and it provides warmth and also has properties that have a calming effect on the body. It helps with better sleep. 

Recipe

  • In a pan take a cup full of milk
  • Add two saffron strands and also add as many as dry fruits you like like almonds, pistachios, melon seeds etc. 
  • Do not add any sugar 

Intake this milk every night before sleep. This will help with an improvised sleep cycle that will help make the beginning of the next day energetic.
