A shocking news has come ahead from Jalandhar. A 24-year-old woman was reportedly raped by her ‘phone friend’ at Jalandhar’s Mariton Hotel. The Rama Mandi police station is responsible for the Mariton Hotel in Jalandhar. Rama Mandi Police Station SHO Manjinder Singh stated that the police received a call at 112 on an incident at Mariton Hotel.
A FIR was registered against a man by the name of Amandeep Singh Lali, who was 27 to 28 years old, on the complaint. The SHO of Rama Mandi also told that the victim had been in touch with the accused for the past 2 to 3 months. He identified the defendant as the ‘phone friend’ of the victim.
On the other hand, Hotel Mariton manager Aakash shot down the report that any woman was attacked inside their hotel.
Preliminary reports suggest that the victim had been drinking a Red Bull that was laced with liquor. The crime was then perpetuated. Following these breakthroughs, the Rama Mandi police have registered FIR no. 309 under Section 69 of the IPC against Amandeep Singh Lali but the accused is still to be arrested.
The woman lives in a village falling under the Phillaur police station, which belongs to Phillaur tehsil. She is a party hostess. She had got acquaintance with Amandeep Singh Lali four months ago. They had met two or three times prior to this at Jalandhar.
Victim informed that on October 25th at 10 p.m., Lali had contacted her on his cellular phone and invited her to meet him that very evening, claiming that they were supposed to get married the next day and therefore should spend the night together in the hotel.
She further added that she reached Jalandhar around midnight on her Activa scooter. In two hours, Lali took her to a hotel where his friends Harman and Jassi were residing.
While questioning them, she was informed by Lali that they had been summoned witnesses for their wedding. Lali took her to room 501 on the fifth floor, and his friends were in room 319 on the third floor.
He gave Red Bull mixed with an intoxicant to make her unconscious during that time. In the morning, she came round to find she had several marks on her body. She reported that she was sexually assaulted against her will.
