Punjab Police AIG Rashpal Singh Arrested in Fake Case Probe

Rashpal Singh may be accused of filing a fake case, and during the inquiry enough evidence may have been found against him that police interceded.

Reports say that another top Punjab Police officer has been arrested. Following the detention of DIG Bhullar, another Punjab Police senior officer has been taken into custody. This time it is a senior officer named AIG (Assistant Inspector General) Rashpal Singh, who has been arrested by Jalandhar Police via the trap route. 

Rashpal Singh may be accused of filing a fake case, and during the inquiry enough evidence may have been found against him that police interceded. Sources said it happened on Monday while Rashpal Singh was driving from Amritsar to Jalandhar.

 The Special Task Force (STF) unit had set up a trap nearby Beas, and when Rashpal Singh approached, his vehicle was stopped and he was arrested. Once arrested, he was taken to Jalandhar for questioning and the inquiry into the case against him is ongoing. 

Rashpal Singh is a high-ranking officer in the Punjab Police and an officer that has held the title of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in several different districts throughout the state. His arrest has caused an uproar in the police department due to his position and connections he has had in management.
