Two Policemen on Sunday were found dead with the bullet injuries near the International Border (IB) in Adhian village in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district.
Both the deceased have been identified as Gurnam Singh and Ashok Kumar.
Gurnam served as an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), while Kumar worked as a home guard, according to Banarsi Dass via phone, who also mentioned that Kumar was the Station House Officer (SHO) at Dorangla police station in Gurdaspur.
Contradictory accounts surfaced about the events leading to the dismissal, with no officer verifying the order of occurrences.
Early accounts indicated that the two officers might have gotten into a dispute, after which gunfire occurred. Nevertheless, there were also reports that a suspected carrier fired shots when confronted by the authorities.

Deputy Inspector General (Border) Sandeep Goel, Gurdaspur Senior Superintendent of Police Aditya, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajinder Manhas, and Dorangla SHO Banarsi Dass quickly arrived at the location.
