The widow filmed a video prior to her death in which she mentioned financial struggles and alleged that 10 individuals were harassing her over money issues.

In Malerkotla, located in Punjab, India, three suicides have taken place within a family: a widow, her elderly mother and her nine-year-old son. All of them took poison to end their own lives.
The widow filmed a video prior to her death in which she mentioned financial struggles and alleged that 10 individuals were harassing her over money issues.
The police registered charges against ten people, including Inderpal Kaur’s mother-in-law, under the provisions of Abetment to Suicide based on the video evidence, with further investigation underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the suicide.
According to Malerkotla police, Inderpal Kaur (31 years) and her mother (Hardeep Kaur) and her 9-year-old son, Jordan Singh, living in Bhudan village committed suicide by consuming poison on the evening of Tues.
Inderpal Kaur’s husband, Pavandeep Singh, died several years ago, and Inderpal Kaur subsequently moved out of her husband’s (in-law’s) house to live at her parents’ home with her son.
Inderpal Kaur and her mother, Hardeep Kaur, died immediately after consuming the poison on Tuesday night. Jordan Singh was alive when the poison was consumed and found his mother and grandmother unresponsive the following morning and concluded that they were dead. Jordan Singh contacted his paternal grandmother to report the situation.
Upon hearing of the event, local residents arrived and transported Jordan Singh to a hospital; however, the extent of poison exposure was severe and Jordan died prior to arriving at the hospital.
