Officials revealed on Wednesday that a confrontation during a police operation in Nurpur, Jalandhar involving suspected gang members led to a short gunfight between police and the suspects, with the suspects being injured and illegal firearms being recovered.
Following up on tips about the two suspects wanted by law enforcement, police teams arrived at the scene. When police attempted to arrest the two suspects, an immediate and unprovoked gunshot from the suspects was fired at the police team.

Investigators have stated that the suspects are members of the Dadewala and Harry gangs, which have been involved in a number of criminal activities in the area. Police also stated that the suspects were given the opportunity to surrender, but instead opened fire on police.
Police seized two handguns from the suspects while executing their arrest warrants. The suspects are believed to be associated with the Batala shooting in which a businessman was targeted and led police to conduct an aggressive search for them.
The investigation is continuing to find additional individuals who assisted the gang and to comprehend the full scope of the gang’s criminal activities.
