As per PTI, Delhi Police chief Satish Golcha reported that the blast occurred in a gradually moving vehicle close to the Red Fort traffic signal at approximately 6.52 pm, with passengers also inside. Delhi Police chief Golcha stated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is receiving updates on the situation.
Government sources indicated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi assessed the situation in Delhi and is in communication with Amit Shah.
Shah conversed with the Delhi police commissioner and the Director of IB to assess the situation and has also instructed the heads of NIA, NSG, and forensic sciences to send teams quickly to aid in the investigation and gather evidence, as per sources.
Chandni Chowk market will remain shut on Tuesday due to the explosion, market association president Sanjay Bhargav stated, as reported by PTI.
