Approximately Rs 20 crore was allocated for metalling and patchwork on all roads leading to Anandpur Sahib.

The district administration of Ropar has requested the assistance of local residents to reach this goal. Although the administration would be responsible for painting all government buildings, sources indicated that the district administration had opted to provide paint to the residents of Anandpur Sahib for them to apply on their homes, private properties, shops, and other commercial establishments.
A high-ranking member of the district administration stated that the area was painted white in 1999 as part of the tercentenary celebrations of Khalsa’s birth, which were observed here by the previous SAD-BJP government.
At that time, the SGPC, along with the state and Central governments, was collaborating closely for the event. According to the official, the state government was receiving minimal assistance from both the SGPC and the union government this time.
Minister for Education and Public Relations Harjot Singh Bains stated that the state government was doing everything possible to make the event international. Approximately Rs 20 crore was allocated for metalling and patchwork on all roads leading to Anandpur Sahib.
For the first time, tents were being erected at the site to host devotees. Residents of Anandpur Sahib were stepping up to assist the administration in making the event unforgettable, he noted.
As the event date approaches, several organizations in the region have presented proposals to the local authorities to designate Anandpur Sahib as the 24th district of the state.
