Shinderpal Kaur has labeled her daughter’s death a conspiracy, alleging that Nancy was murdered because she “never hesitated to speak the truth.

Nancy Grewal (45), a prominent Indo-Canadian YouTuber and outspoken critic of religious and political extremism, was brutally stabbed to death on March 3, 2026, in LaSalle, Ontario. Her mother Shinderpal Kaur of Jalandhar’s Deol Nagar is surrounded by grief.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, mother Shinderpal revealed a timeline of threats, surveillance, and a mother’s intuition that could not stop the inevitable.
Shinderpal Kaur has labeled her daughter’s death a conspiracy, alleging that Nancy was murdered because she “never hesitated to speak the truth. “According to Kaur, Nancy had been living under a shadow of fear for months due to her digital activism.
- Documented Threats: Kaur claims Nancy had repeatedly informed the Canadian police about death threats from “hardliners” and extremist elements.
- The “Recce” Incident: A few months prior, Nancy spotted a man with a covered face lurking outside her Windsor residence. “She had installed CCTV cameras because of the threats,” Kaur said. “She saw him, and he fled when he realized he was being recorded. Had those cameras not been there, she would have been killed then.”
- The Arson Attack: Kaur also highlighted a previous incident where Nancy’s home was allegedly set on fire. Despite the trauma, Nancy continued to post videos criticizing figures like Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and the Khalistan movement.
The bond between the two was maintained through daily calls where Nancy shared everything from her work as a caregiver to her fear of her detractors.
“She shared with me everything, from her experience with patients to the threats she faced. That is the reason I am fully aware of those who nursed grudges against her,” Kaur said through tears.
The last conversation between mother and daughter took place on March 2. When Nancy failed to answer calls on March 3, Shinderpal monitored the live feed of Nancy’s home security cameras from Jalandhar, only to realize something was terribly wrong.
