As per the Punjab State Electricity Commission, the electricity rates have been reduced by 70 Paise per unit for commercial users. However, the rates for industrial consumers have been noted with the reduction by 74 Paise per unit.

The Punjab government has declared a decrease in electricity rates, providing significant relief to the residents of the state. According to the reports, the decrease is expected to advantage electricity users throughout Punjab starting April 1, 2026.
The Punjab government announced new rates, stating they have reduced electricity costs, bringing the domestic consumer rate down to Rs 1.5 per unit.
Households to gain Advantages
The Punjab government has been granting 300 units of free electricity to household consumers each month, totaling 600 units at no charge by the conclusion of a two-month billing cycle. As a result, this step will benefit users consuming over 600 units of electricity since they will now receive reduced bills.
Commercials as well to get Benefits
