His wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal, who is also the Bathinda MP and the sister of Majithia, and Majithia’s wife Ganieve Kaur were also present

SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal went to Nabha Jail on Friday to meet his imprisoned party leader and brother-in-law Bikram Singh Majithia.
His wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal, who is also the Bathinda MP and the sister of Majithia, and Majithia’s wife Ganieve Kaur were also present.
Seeing it all, it was quite evident that they were united during these tough times when people were speculating that everything within Badal clan is not well.
No sooner had Sukhbir Badal finished the meeting than he began to speak to the media. He held the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government responsible for directing fire at the political adversaries and compared it with the past torturous time that SAD leaders, his father, late Parkash Singh Badal, went through.
He also made a furiously offensive guard at Patiala SSP Varun Sharma. He charged him with “unethical conduct unbecoming of a police officer.”
On the same day, Dera Beas chief Gurinder Singh Dhillon, head of the Radha Soami Satsang based in Beas near Amritsar, also met Majithia in jail. The dera has a massive follower base in Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh.
Majithia, an accused of having laundered over Rs 540 crore of ‘drug money’ was arrested on June 25 by the Vigilance Bureau (VB) under a disproportionate assets case.
The VB on August 22 filed a chargesheet of over 40,000 pages in a Mohali court. This FIR is against Majithia, who is the subject of a current inquiry that is taking place by a special investigation team from the Punjab Police in a 2021 drug case.
Majithia, in 2021 was a subject to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The operation was executed based on a 2018 report of the anti-drug Special Task Force.
Majithia, who was imprisoned in Patiala for over five months, was released from prison in August 2022 after the Punjab and Haryana High Court provided him bail.
