SAD brought up the concern following the registration of nine FIRs and the arrest of four workers, with six individuals named in the cases.

The Election Commission of India has called Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav on November 25 following complaints lodged by Shiromani Akali Dal. The DGP has been instructed to attend the Delhi office.
The measure was implemented following SAD’s submission of grievances regarding FIRs against its employees during the Tarn Taran by-election campaign.
The summons comesafter the commission’s examination of a report provided by the DGP on November 13, one day priorto the announcement of the bypoll results.
Shiromani Akali Dal brought up the concern following the registration of nine FIRs and the arrest of four workers, with six individuals named in the cases.
The FIRs were filed in Batala, Moga, Tarn Taran, and Amritsar.
Previously, Punjab police had provided a report to the ECI defending the actions of former Tarn Taran SSP Ravjot Kaur Grewal, who was suspended by the election body on November 8.
