Five Arrested After 21-Year-Old Set on Fire During Birthday Prank in Kurla, Mumbai

A 21-year-old college kid got burned when a friend set him on fire during a birthday celebration. Cops arrested five people on Tuesday.

In Mumbai’s Kurla area, a 21-year-old college kid got burned when a friend set him on fire during a birthday celebration. Cops arrested five people on Tuesday.

Abdul Rehman Khan got a morning call from a friend who wanted him to meet up. When Khan got there, his five buddies had him cut a cake and then started throwing eggs and stones at him.

Then, this guy Ayaz Malik grabs a bottle of gas he had in his scooter and pours it all over Khan. Even though Khan was telling him to stop, Malik lit him on fire with a lighter, according to the police.

Khan ran to the watchman’s booth and got the guy to douse him with water. He’s now in the hospital getting treatment for burns on his face, hands, and chest.

After hearing Khan’s story, the police filed a report for attempted culpable homicide.

All five individuals, including the main accused Ayaz Malik, Ashraf Malik, Kasim Chowdhary, Huzaifa Khan, and Sharif Sheikh, have been arrested and remanded in police custody.
