IRCTC Opens Airport Ticket Counter as Railways Run Special Trains to Delhi

The Sabarmati-Delhi special train is scheduled to operate on December 7th and 9th at 10:55 PM, arriving in Delhi the following day at 3:15 PM.

Officials stated that the counter is providing tickets directly to passengers who require a transfer to train services.

IRCTC representative Shubham Arya informed ANI that tickets can be booked at the airport using direct payment and confirmed that two special trains to Delhi are in operation. Arya stated, “Railways and IRCTC are running special trains to Delhi.

A counter has been established right at the airport. We are reserving tickets for travelers here on a direct payment basis. Two trains for Delhi are available, and reservations can be made for them.

In response to disruptions created by the airline IndiGo, Indian Railways has launched special trains across many regions.

To supplement this disruption, the Western Railway Zone is adding additional services to its routes, and adding extra coaches to normal scheduled trains, creating much needed capacity to carry the increased passenger numbers.

Ajay Solanki PRO from Western Railway has requested that passengers use these extra services and arrive at their stations earlier to ensure they can board the train before it leaves the platform.

He stated, “In light of the passengers’ needs, the Western Railways have chosen to operate special trains.” The Sabarmati-Delhi special train is scheduled to operate on December 7th and 9th at 10:55 PM, arriving in Delhi the following day at 3:15 PM.

A different train, Sabarmati-Delhi Sarai Rohilla, will commence on 7th December at 5:30 AM and arrive at Delhi Sarai Rohilla by 11 PM. The travelers are encouraged to utilize these services. They are also requested to get to the train station thirty minutes in advance because of potential traffic hold-ups.

Extra coaches will be included in the trains – an AC 3-tier coach will be added to Ahmedabad-Thawe Junction; a 2nd Class AC coach will be added to Swarna Jayanti Rajdhani Express; a sleeper coach will be added to Sabarmati-Jammu Tawi Express.

IndiGo’s widespread operational failure caused by a severe crew shortage due to the new FDTL regulations has led to significant cancellations, delays, and rescheduling since the previous week.
