The police said that he died after his health suddenly deteriorated, and they took him to a medical facility. However, his family is disputing the police’s version and is claiming that Harman was healthy when he was taken from his residence. The family has since accused the police of wrongdoing and brutality and has subsequently blocked GT Road and yelled at the Punjab Police.
Harman’s mom, Balwinder Kaur, said that he had been taken into custody to be interrogated because of a fight in their village. She told reporters that her brother had visited Harman last night and that he was doing very well at that time.
Then, when the family went to the police station to drop off tea this morning, they were told by the police that Harman had been transferred to the hospital after developing a sudden illness last night while in custody.
The DSP Ravinder Singh said that a post-mortem will be performed to determine the precise reason for Harman’s death and confirmed that an investigation was being conducted into the case.
