Reports indicate that Nikita faced mistreatment shortly after her marriage, noting that her in-laws’ attitude shifted significantly upon her return from Pakistan.

In Karachi, a woman from Pakistan has stated that her spouse has abandoned her there and is covertly making arrangements to wed another individual in Delhi.
The woman, Nikita Nagdev, expressed her anguish in a video plea directed to India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting justice for her situation, which many social and legal organizations in both India and Pakistan are speaking out about.
Nikita resides in Karachi and states that she wed Vikram Nagdev on January 26, 2020, following Hindu customs, as he is a citizen of India of Pakistani heritage living in the Indian state of Indore and has a long-term visa. A month after their marriage, Vikram transported her to India on February 26.
Nikita’s circumstances have rapidly deteriorated, according to her comments. Vikram allegedly left her at the Attari Border on July 9, 2020, falsely citing a visa problem and subsequently forced her back to Pakistan.
Nikita claims he has not made any effort to retrieve her since then. “I constantly pleaded with him to call me to India, but he consistently declined,” she said in her video.
Speaking from Karachi, she urged: “If justice is denied now, women will lose faith in the system. Numerous women experience psychological and physical violence in their homes. “I ask for everyone’s support.”

Nikita contacted the Indore Social Panchayat in May 2025, at which time this case had already come to their attention. The Indore Social Panchayat recommended that Vikram be deported.
Subsequently, Collector Ashish Singh announced that an investigation was ongoing and that further action would be taken based on the results of this investigation.
