The duo is anticipated to be presented before a Delhi Court, where officials will request a transit remand to transport them to Goa.
Deportation from Thailand
Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra had escaped to Phuket shortly after the tragedy occurred at the Goa nightclub, which resulted in 25 fatalities. The authorities detained them for overstaying, after which Indian officials suspended their passports.
Goa Night Club Fire Incident
A fire at a nightclub in Goa in early December resulted in 25 fatalities as well as injuries sustained by many. The government is attempting to determine if there were any violations of fire safety regulations, and whether or not that establishment held all of the necessary permits to operate from both the state and national levels.
On December 6th, the Goa branch of the Bombay High Court changed the civil case against the owners of the establishment to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) which has been filed with an emphasis on accountability and therefore directed that the government of Goa clarify the status of the various licenses that were required for the nightclub to legally operate.
The court also observed that business operations could persist at the site despite a current demolition order and prior grievances raised with the local panchayat. Advocate Rohit Bras de Sa, representing the property owners, has been designated as amicus curiae and requested to provide a comprehensive affidavit.
