Farmer Dies in Accidental Firing of Licensed Rifle in Sultanpur Lodhi

As per reports, at the time of the incident, Balkar Singh was at home with his wife. When the gun fired, the couple was in the house together.

Shock and sadness have gripped Chakkpatti village near Kabirpur in Sultanpur Lodhi following a tragic death resulting from an accident that occurred Wednesday evening when Balkar Singh (60), a farmer, was killed by the accidental discharge of a 12-bore rifle from his property.

As per reports, at the time of the incident, Balkar Singh was at home with his wife. When the gun fired, the couple was in the house together. Upon hearing the gunshot, Balkar’s wife quickly notified their family members and neighbouring villagers, who then arrived at the location of the shooting.

Upon inspecting his bedroom, Balkar Singh was discovered lifeless.

Balkar Singh’s relatives informed the police that he had a married daughter and two sons living overseas. Balkar’s relatives mentioned that they had no suspicions of wrongdoing and thought he passed away from an accidental discharge of the registered firearm stored at home

Upon receiving reports from witnesses at the scene of the incident, members of the Kabirpur Police Station arrived at the site to investigate what happened to the deceased man. The deceased body was subsequently taken into custody by local authorities for transport to a medical facility to conduct an autopsy and determine how he died.

The police will conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death and take appropriate action once the autopsy results have been received, along with whatever additional evidence was obtained from the Investigation Division.

In the interim, community members are mourning the untimely and unexpected loss of their neighbour, Balkar Singh.
