Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present at the inauguration of a national memorial and addressed a public audience in Uttar Pradesh.

The commemoration of the 101st birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee should have been a time to honor him. Instead, it became center of attraction that took place via social media in Lucknow on December 25, 2025, due to mild food rationing.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present at the inauguration of a national memorial and addressed a public audience in Uttar Pradesh. However, instead of a political discussion on the Prime Minister’s comments, the social media focus was directed towards a virulent dispute concerning the samosas.
A video that has gone viral on several social media sites shows a brawl taking place between individuals, which was caused by the shortage of samosas at the event. In the video, three men are shown punching, kicking and slapping a fourth man, knocking him into several rows of chairs.
The visual aspect of the fight itself is shocking; however, what was even more shocking was the timing of the event.
The clash occurred as the Prime Minister’s speech played on, giving the clip an almost dreamlike feel.
“One Nation, One Samosa,” reacts Internet
The internet quickly responded. Users of social media referred to the event as “absolute cinema,” with numerous people creating the playful hashtag #OneNationOneSamosa.
Timelines were inundated with memes, as users quipped that for certain individuals, samosas outweigh politics.
Some voiced their discontent, labeling the occurrence a setback to “samosa brotherhood” and decrying the absence of decorum at a serious public gathering.
Although the formal agenda emphasized honoring Vajpayee’s legacy and revealing a memorial for him, the unanticipated food-related altercation has turned into the most discussed incident of the day.
