To manage the heavy rush of passengers during the New Year, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has announced a special reserved train between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

Special Train No. 04081 (New Delhi–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra)
The train will depart from New Delhi at 11:45 PM on December 27 and reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 12:00 PM the next day.
It will halt at Panipat, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu, and Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur).
Special Train No. 04082 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–New Delhi)
This return special train will operate five trips from December 28, 2025, to January 1, 2026. On its first run, it will leave Katra at 9:20 PM on December 28 and arrive in New Delhi at 10:00 AM the next day.
The stoppages include Udhampur, Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Kurukshetra, and Panipat.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Jammu Division, Uchit Singhal, said the special train has been introduced to control the New Year rush and provide a comfortable travel option for passengers visiting Jammu and Kashmir. The train will run with 16 coaches.
Passengers can book tickets through the Indian Railways website, mobile app, or authorized agents. Railways have advised travelers to check train timings before starting their journey.
