Akal Takht imposes Ban on Anand Karaj outside Gurdwaras, AI-Generated videos of Sikh Gurus

A total prohibition has been enacted on bringing the Holy Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to any wedding location.

A complete prohibition has been established on conducting Anand Karaj ceremonies outside Gurdwara premises, stated Akal Takht acting Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Gargaj. The choice was made during a gathering of all five Sikh Sahibans at Sri Akal Takht Sahib in Amritsar.

The Jathedar stated that holding Anand Karaj ceremonies in parks, hotels, or commercial locations violates Sikh guidelines; therefore, it has been collectively decided that Anand Karaj will take place solely in gurdwaras and will not be allowed elsewhere.

Moreover, a total prohibition has been enacted on bringing the holy saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to any wedding location.

He also mentioned that strict measures will be implemented against ragis or jathas that disregard these orders.

A total prohibition has been enforced on the production of AI (Artificial Intelligence) generated videos showing Sikh Gurus. The Jathedar also stated that due to technological advancements, it has been resolved that AI-created or artificial films on religious topics will be prohibited, as they negatively affect Sikh traditions and religious discipline.

Jathedar Gargaj further stated that Sri Akal Takht Sahib is completely dedicated to preserving Sikh maryada (code of conduct) and will maintain a strong position on such issues moving forward.
