According to sources, the driver of a car died after stepping out of his vehicle to remove a gas cylinder stuck underneath it.

One person was killed and five others injured in a multi-vehicle collision caused by poor visibility on a highway near Ajnaud village in Doraha area of Ludhiana district on Sunday morning.
The accident involved several vehicles, including a truck carrying LPG cylinders. Officials said the situation could have turned more dangerous had the cylinders caught fire.
According to sources, the driver of a car died after stepping out of his vehicle to remove a gas cylinder stuck underneath it. He was hit by another vehicle while standing on the road.
Police, led by officer Sukhdev Singh, carried out rescue operations with the help of the Sadak Suraksha Force. Preliminary investigation revealed that the truck carrying LPG cylinders applied sudden brakes when a car ahead slowed down. A cement-laden truck then rammed into the vehicles ahead, triggering a chain collision involving vehicles behind it.
In a separate incident, a Verna car collided with a private bus near Bharthala village on the Chandigarh–Samrala road. The occupants of the car fled before police arrived. The Samrala police later impounded the vehicle after finding a large quantity of liquor bottles inside.
Earlier during the night, another car carrying three people caught fire near Agwar Lopon village close to Jagraon. The occupants managed to escape safely after noticing flames. Fire brigade teams were called to control the blaze.
Police are investigating all the incidents.
