A tragic accident claimed the life of a first-year LPU student while another was injured after their motorcycle crashed. They both were allegedly making a video on the move in Jalandhar on Sunday.
According to the police, the two students were travelling from Jalandhar to Amritsar on a motorcycle. When they reached the NIT area, the rider began recording a video. In the process, the rider lost control of the motorcycle after its footrest hit an iron railing on the roadside.
The impact caused the motorcycle to lose balance, throwing both riders onto the road. The rider has been identified as Jayvardhan, son of Srinivas, died on the spot. However, the rider, Naidu, sustained injuries and was rushed for medical treatment.
Police from Maqsudan police station, led by ASI Rajinder Singh, reached the spot after receiving information and began an investigation. Jayvardhan, a Computer Science Engineering student at Lovely Professional University (LPU), was in his first year.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to Jalandhar Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police are examining all aspects of the incident.
