Two Arrested in Firing Case at Immigration Centre in Gurdaspur

The arrested men have been identified as Karamjit Singh alias Karam and Rohit Kumar alias Asu, both residents of Batala.

Police have made a major breakthrough in the firing incident at the Aussie Hub Immigration Centre on Jail Road, Gurdaspur, which took place on December 25, by arresting two accused involved in the crime.

The arrested men have been identified as Karamjit Singh alias Karam and Rohit Kumar alias Asu, both residents of Batala. During the investigation, police recovered a .30-bore pistol, eight live cartridges, an air pistol, and the motorcycle used in the incident. The motorcycle was found to be fitted with a fake number plate.

According to the police, the accused confessed during interrogation that they carried out the firing on the instructions of Nishan Singh alias Nishan Joria. The motive behind the attack was reportedly to extort money from the owner of the immigration centre.

Police officials revealed that the accused were in contact with Nishan Joria through Snapchat, which was used to plan and coordinate the crime.

Further investigation is underway to trace the main conspirator and determine if others were involved in the incident.
