According to the driver, the bus was returning from Gurdaspur when its suspension suddenly failed, causing both rear tyres to detach.

In a concerning incident late Monday night, the rear wheels of a moving Punjab Roadways Transport Corporation (PRTC) bus came off near Akshardham Temple on the Amritsar–PAP Highway, close to the Chogitti Flyover in Jalandhar.
Fortunately, the bus was not carrying any passengers at the time. Only the driver, Jasvir Singh, and the conductor were onboard, and both escaped unhurt. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
According to the driver, the bus was returning from Gurdaspur when its suspension suddenly failed, causing both rear tyres to detach. The bus went out of control, mounted the sidewalk, and came to a halt between two lanes of the highway.
Due to poor visibility and the stranded bus, traffic movement was badly affected. An ambulance and a VIP convoy were also caught in the traffic jam.
After receiving information, a road safety force team rushed to the spot and cleared one side of the highway to ease congestion. Later, a crane was brought in to remove the damaged bus from the road.
Although the bus has been cleared, traffic continued to move slowly at the site for some time.
