Punjab Govt. extends Winter Holidays in all schools till January 7, 2026

The Punjab state Government has extended the winter holidays till January 7, 2026 in all the private and government scrolls across Punjab.

The Punjab state Government has extended the winter holidays till January 7, 2026 in all the private and government scrolls across Punjab. The decision has come in the light of cold weather conditions and dense fog.

Earlier, the announced holidays were for the period of eight days that is from December 24, 2025 to December 31, 2025. And, now these have been extended till January 7, 2026. 

The Punjab State Education Minister, Harjot Singh Bains made an official announcement through his ‘X’ earlier known as Twitter account. In the shared post, the minister wrote-

“As per the orders of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, winter holidays in all private and govt. schools have been extended till January 7 across the state. The decision has been made considering the cold weather conditions and dense fog conditions to ensure the safety of students and staff.”

Adding to it, the announcement clears that all the school will reopen on January 8, 2026.
