Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended New Year 2026 wishes, praying for health, prosperity and unity, as India welcomed the year with celebrations.
On Thursday Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent out his New Year wishes to the people of the country, hoping that all of them will have a wonderful year 2026.
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister put an emphasis on his hope that the year ahead would be filled with health and prosperity for everyone. He said that he prays for people to succeed in their endeavors and find happiness in all that they do.
The Head of the Government was the first one who expressed his desires for the community to be serene and happy. He also imparted his most favorable wishes for the country to observe a new year of unity and good health.
On his part, before him, the influential member of the Indian National Congress and the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, utilized the social media platform X for new year greetings to everyone in 2026 and, added, his wishes that the year would be marked with health, happiness, and success to all.
India celebrated the New Year 2026 with fireworks, community prayers, and public gatherings. The celebration of the event with family and friends was common in the cities, hill towns, and religious centres where people marked the occasion with these activities.
