IndiGo CEO’s stance on Disruptions

IndiGo’s CEO Pieter Elbers stated on Friday that due to the size, scale, and complexity of their operations, it will require time to achieve full normalcy, “which we expect to occur between December 10 and 15.”

In a video message to passengers during the extraordinary situation where the airline canceled more than a thousand flights in the last three days, the CEO expressed regret to customers, stating that the circumstances stem from multiple factors and the company is implementing some new actions to resolve the issue.

“We have faced significant operational interruptions over the last few days.” “Elbers noted that since then, the situation has worsened, and today, December 5th, has become the hardest-hit day, with cancellations exceeding a thousand, accounting for more than half of our daily flights.”

“On behalf of everyone at Indigo, I would like to express our heartfelt apologies for the significant disruption this has created for numerous customers due to delays or cancellations,” he mentioned.
