An Indian national was attacked by a group of transgender women in Pattaya, Thailand, following a dispute over payment for sexual services, according to local media reports. The incident took place on December 27, but videos of the assault have recently gone viral on social media.
The victim, identified as 52-year-old Raj Jasuja, was reportedly involved in an argument with three transgender women who demanded payment. When Jasuja allegedly refused to pay and attempted to leave the area in his car, the situation escalated.
According to eyewitness accounts, the transgender women raised an alarm and, with the help of locals, pulled Jasuja out of the vehicle. He was then beaten and kicked before being rescued.
Rescue workers who arrived at the spot found Jasuja with injuries to his face and the back of his head. He was given first aid and later taken to Pattamakun Hospital for further treatment.
A 19-year-old Thai witness told rescue officials that he saw Jasuja arguing with a transgender sex worker near the entrance of Pattaya’s Walking Street. The witness claimed that a physical altercation followed after Jasuja allegedly failed to pay the full agreed amount, following which other transgender women joined in the assault.
Thai police said that once Jasuja fully recovers, he will be asked to file a formal complaint, after which further legal action will be taken.
Pattaya has witnessed similar incidents in the past involving Indian tourists and transgender sex workers. In September, an Indian man was reportedly assaulted after allegedly touching a transgender woman inappropriately. In October, three transgender women allegedly attacked two Indian nationals at a hotel in Pattaya and fled with valuables worth approximately Rs 69,000, local media reported.
