Neem & its Benefits

The Neem tree originated in India, It is found in most of India. Neem is believed to be rooted in hindu mythology, as it is said to be connected with Maa Sitala Devi. There is a short saying which states that Neem tree got its medicinal properties from amrita when the few drops of it fell on a tree while the Gods were carrying this elixir to heaven.

The Neem tree has many medicinal properties. Neem helps treat fungal infections, skin infection and many other problems. Neem consists of antimicrobial properties, This tree helps fight infections and is also known as universal healer. The neem leaves and bark is used to prepare oil and other pastes to be used as ointments. The excessive oral consumption of Neem can lead to problems associated with kidney and liver. In villages, neem is called a village pharmacy from hair oil to insect repellent neem is used widely.

Ashoka & its Benefits

The origin of tree Ashoka is India, as it is found in the rainforests of India. These trees exist widely in the Western Ghats. This tree is known for its fragrant flowers. Ashoka tree is considered sacred in India as the Sita when under Ravana’s captivity lived in Ashoka vatika, she was surrounded by Ashoka trees, also she heard the news about Rama first time by Hanuman ji when she resided there. Ashoka means without grief, this tree is known as the feminine and the plant that vanishes the sorrow. It is a symbol of strength and hope.

Being the most feminine tree, the Ashoka’s flowers and leaves help treat menstrual issues. The drinks made of Ashoka bark and flowers help regulate menstrual cycles. Helps relieve period pain and hyper bleeding. Also,this has various antioxidant properties which helps with cell damage. The products made or originated from Ashoka are considered to be rich in calcium and protects the bone health.

Banyan & its Benefits

It is a national tree of India. This tree originated in India. It is an aerial and evergreen tree. It is known to be a Divine Abode as the early scriptures state that Lord Shiva meditated under the banyan tree and it is known to be symbol of cosmic cycle of nature.It marks to be a sacred tree which holds a tradition associated with it like Vat Savitri Pooja which signifies the immortality as the wives do it for their husband’s long lives.

It is very commonly and widely known to treat diarrhea and has Anti inflammatory and analgesic properties. To cure diarrhea , banyan tree powder is mixed with hot water and milk. The paste made of banyan bark cures the swollen gums or dental issues. It cures problems like arthritis as well.

Peepal & its Benefits

This holy Indian tree holds the divine significance of the creation, preservation and destruction as it states the embodiment of Brahma (in roots), Vishnu (in trunk)and Shiva(in leaves).The people tree is considered very sacred and also sometimes is known as of as great importance as of a temple, people from India tie a thread asking for a wish to be fulfilled and it is believed that this wish is fulfilled. The peepal is prayed by the people from Buddhism because Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment under the Peepal tree. It is prayed for wealth as it is believed that Maa lakshmi stays in it.

Apart from the spiritual significance, peepal tree comprises many biological and medicinal properties which helps with betterment of physical health. The leaves and bark of the peepal tree cures respiratory issues, its paste and water or other forms are used as natural inhalant. The leaf juice helps deal digestive issues. The powder of bark leaf cures menstrual cycles as well.  

Amla & its Benefits

This is an Indian gooseberry and the first tree to grow on Earth. Indian and mythological history states that Amla was the tree which grew when Lord Brahma’s tear fell on ground when he was meditating. On this tree gooseberry grew and became the Indian supernatural fruit to be a medicinal berry.

Amla is rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants. Amla is considered very good for brain health. Also , the name given to amla is rejuvenator as it has the properties that balances all the three doshas- Vara, pitta and kapha. According to ayurveda one must consume at least one amla a day. The most common ways of consuming amla include taking it in the form of powder, candy, pickle, chutney and murraba.
