A cyber scam has busted in Jalandhar city involving the use of fake E-challans to deceive individuals. Individuals are getting fraudulent E-challan notifications on their cell phones through SMS and WhatsApp messages.
The ADCP (Operations and Security) Vineet Kumar states that these fraudsters are taking advantage of residents under the guise of the E-challan system and deceiving them. The fraudsters have created a new method for deceiving the public and obtaining their personal and sensitive information.
Addressing the emerging concern, ADCP Vineet Kumar has cautioned the public regarding fraudulent E-challans. He states that only a legitimate and authentic E-challan is sent via SMS to the registered mobile number. This communication originates from the authorized government website parivahan.gov.in.
