An argument between the fire brigade employee and a woman police after a BMW car and fire brigade collided on Saturday night at Dr BR Ambedkar Chowk in Jalandhar.
Although, the police immediately reached the spot upon receiving the information about the happening, accused the in-charge of Police Station Division No. 4 for handling the matter with biasness.
After the collision, both the fire brigade employee and woman police started argument with each other. And, the people gathered around started recording the video. In the video, woman police is seen asking the license of drivers of both the vehicles (BMW and Fire Brigade).
Notably, the fire brigade driver refused to show his license.
Narrating the incident, the fire brigade employee stated that BMW rammed into the parked fire brigade vehicle and later claimed to be close to SAD Leader Sukhbir Singh Badal.
He then added that the car driver abused him and called the police. After which the dispute intensified.
Fire brigade officer Rajinder Kumar Sahota stated that a fire brigade vehicle had been stationed near Dr BR Ambedkar Chowk as a safety measure for the Shobha Yatra of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji moving through the city.
Sahota claimed that the BMW, traveling at a fast speed, struck the stationary fire brigade vehicle. Sahota stated that rather than acknowledging his mistake, the car driver began blaming the fire brigade personnel and frequently referenced his political ties.
Sahota further alleged that after receiving the complaint, Division No. 4 police in-charge Anu Palyal reached the spot and, without properly hearing their side, blamed the fire brigade personnel and pressured them to go to the police station. On the other hand, SHO Anu Palyal said that the police received information about an accident at Dr BR Ambedkar Chowk, following which she reached the spot with her team.
She mentionedthat both sides were requested to present their driving licenses. The car driver showed his license,but the fire brigade workerdeclined to presenttheirs. She added that both parties were requested to report to the police station as part of the investigation.
The SHO rejected claims and stated that the police followed protocol to look into the event.
