Car Catches Fire on Abohar–Malout Highway, Couple Escapes Unhurt

When they both reached at the Shivam Dhaba on the road, the car suddenly faced technical problem, following which there was some sparking.

A moving car caught fire on Wednesday night at the Abohar-Malout Highway. The man on the driving seat stopped the car and stepped out along with his wife immediately as the fire escalated.

Shortly after the incident took place, fire brigade arrived at the spot and flames were brought under control. As the incident occurred on the road, other vehicles having watched the car engulfed stopped at the spot.

The victims have been identified as Davinder Singh and his wife. They both are the residents of Gobind Nagari in Abohar. The affected car has been identified as Creta. Reports reveal that they both were returning from a food market near Gobindgarh village T-point.

The car windows were opened and the couple immediately stepped out. As soon as they got out, the fire became all the more intense.

With the help of people around, he informed the fire brigade at Abohar. A fire tender reached the spot and controlled the fire. The police reached in a few minutes and managed the traffic, ensuring the safety.
