Tarwinder Singh, the Managing Director of DIPS School in Jalandhar, was taken in for questioning during a police operation early in the morning but was subsequently released when no substantial evidence was uncovered against him at this time.
A Fazilka Police team arrived at Tarwinder Singh’s home in Model Town at approximately 5:00 AM on Friday and took him for interrogation related to a fraud case; the operation was executed after notifying the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, and locals found out about it only after the team departed.
Police clarified that Tarwinder Singh was not officially arrested; he participated in the investigation and assisted officials during the questioning, and after reviewing the documents he provided, the police permitted him to leave.
The FIR identifies Tarwinder Singh, Sikander Lal, Preetinder Kaur, and Bhupinder Singh Makkar also known as Bittu Makkar, with the case encompassing charges of cheating, impersonation, breach of trust, forgery, and criminal conspiracy under the IPC.

Senior Advocate Mandeep Sachdeva claimed that the accusations against Tarwinder Singh are unfounded and that crucial details were not accurately represented in the complaint, adding that Tarwinder Singh provided all pertinent documents to the police, who determined there were no immediate reasons for an arrest after their review.
A petition concerning the issue is currently before the Punjab and Haryana High Court, where the court previously instructed the police to provide a report, and the case is under review. Law enforcement authorities stated that the probe remains active and any subsequent actions will rely on the conclusions drawn from an in-depth investigation.
